The story begins on December 28, 2013, when a Bitcoin enthusiast, known by the username btcbible on Reddit, ordered a pizza. The customer offered the delivery driver two options for his tip: a $5 bill or 0.0069 BTC on a paper wallet. At the time, the value of both options was roughly the same, given the price of Bitcoin was $774.
