First Brazilian Bitcoin Exchange
The first Brazilian Bitcoin exchange, Bitcoin Brasil launched.
They operated as a cash exchange for buying and selling bitcoins at a fixed price.
The exchange rates were derived from the BTC/USD market rate of the now-defunct MtGox exchange.
Transactions had a minimum value requirement of 200 Brazilian reais, and the service dealt with two currencies: the Brazilian Real and the US Dollar. People could use either of these currencies to buy or sell bitcoins.
