The bitcoin price was added to Bloomberg terminals

Bloomberg began providing Bitcoin (BTC) pricing to its more than 320,000 subscribers via the Bloomberg Professional service. This service allowed users to monitor and chart data from prominent Bitcoin exchanges like Coinbase and Kraken. To access the new service, Bloomberg Professional users simply needed to type VCCY into their terminals. 
 

Bloomberg’s decision was driven by a desire to offer better transparency in the nascent virtual currency market and to respond to client demand for tools to monitor developments in these emerging markets. While Bloomberg did not endorse Bitcoin, the inclusion of its pricing data on the terminals provided a valuable resource for financial professionals interested in the Bitcoin space.
