The first Bitcoin ATM in the Dominican Republic launches

The first Bitcoin ATM in the Dominican Republic was installed in the capital city, Santo Domingo. The machine was a Lamassu device, which introduced a convenient way for residents to buy Bitcoin.
 

The ATM was initially set up for buying Bitcoin only, with the potential for adding two-way (buy and sell) functionality in the future. As of the latest information, there are several Bitcoin ATMs located across major cities in the Dominican Republic, including La Vega, Puerto Plata, Punta Cana, San Pedro De Macoris, Santiago De Los Caballeros, and Santo Domingo Este.
